Description

I first discovered Acai bowls in Bali, Indonesia. Whilst staying in Seminyak I must have gone nearly every morning to a local cafe called Nalu Bowls. They had a series of smoothie bowls which you could top with fresh fruit, cereals, nuts and seeds.

Instructions

Add the frozen banana to a blender with almond milk and blend till smooth. Then add the frozen berries and blend again. Add the berries, spirulina and acai powder. Blend again till smooth.

The smoothie should be thick so you can add your toppings without them sinking.

Add all to a bowl and then add your favorite toppings. I usually go for nut butter, chia seeds and extra berries.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 frozen banana, pre-chop and freeze
  • 100ml almond milk, add more if needed
  • ½ tsp. spirulina powder or 1 small handful spinach
  • 60g frozen berries
  • 1 serving acai powder

Toppings:

  • Granola
  • Banana
  • Frozen berries
  • Nut butter
